Four years ago the Israeli Attorney's office began an investigation of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on four charges of corruption. The legal and media pressure caused him to resign. This week the trial came to an end. He was acquitted on 3 of the charges and given a minor conviction on the fourth. The investigation included 157 meetings, 19,000 pages of minutes, 102 witnesses interviewed, and 966 pieces of evidence.
Causing a Prime Minister to resign in this way is quite unprecedented. How could false charges and a vain investigation so change the course of Israeli government and history? Was the investigation influenced by political or media interests?
Re-establishing judicial righteousness in Israel is a major theme of prophecy. Pray that the obsession concerning judicial procedure within Israel will result eventually in raised standards of justice.
Murder in Nigeria
Open Doors News reports that approximately 100 Church of Christ members were murdered this weekend in 12 villages throughout Nigeria. Christians of "Birom" background were attacked by Muslims of "Fulani" background. The violence led by the fanatic Islamic Boko Haram sect has been continuing for the past decade. Local Christians are traumatized and their businesses ruined. Some church leaders claim the Nigerian government is turning a blind eye to jihadist persecution of Christians in their country. Afghani Woman Executed
A shocking video was circulated on the internet this week, showing a helpless Afghani woman, sitting passively, as she was shot in the back 9 times with a semi-automatic rifle, while a horde of Afghani men stood around watching and cheering. The murder was a case of Islamic honor killing, with the men giving praise to Allah during the execution. Politically correct news reports claimed that the execution was not a result of Islamic fanaticism but just a general case of men suppressing women.
Reports state that two Taliban leaders were jealous over the woman because they both wanted her. As the case of the woman accused of adultery in John 8, the charges are absurd because there was no man accused at the same time. Biblical law clearly protects women from this kind of violence, honor killings, and religious fanaticism.
(Numbers 5:11-30 instructs men obsessed with jealousy to present their case before priestly judges for evidence, and when there is no evidence, to be satisfied with the woman simply drinking the "waters of jealousy." Leviticus 20:10 and Deuteronomy 22:22 hold the man involved in a case of adultery responsible first. All cases of death penalty demand fair trial with at least 2 to 3 witnesses.)
Science and Creation
By Hezi Intrater
Faith in God involves every area of life. One of the first items of faith is belief in divine creation (Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 11:3). Modern science gives evidence for the biblical claims of creation.
How we interpret natural creation forms a test for mankind. All the evidence of creation is available, but God chooses to keep Himself invisible. He gives us intelligence in which to think about what appears in nature. He gives us a conscience to discern between right and wrong. And then He gives us free will by which He demands that we choose to believe or not.Holiness: Bottom Line
By Asher Intrater
Holiness is a profound subject. It includes God's character, beauty, and moral perfection. God commands us to be holy as He is holy (Leviticus 19:2). In all the lofty revelations about holiness, there is also a practical bottom line.
The word for "abstain" (apechemo) means more than just "not doing." It means to hold oneself at a distance. There are many influences toward sexual immorality in modern society. If we want to be holy, we must simply get away from them; put a distance between us and those things that cause temptation to sexual relations outside of marriage.

Asher’s teaching Living to Honor God is still available on our YouTube page. Asher speaks on the importance of looking to honor God in everything that we do, living to glorify Him on a minute-to-minute basis, regardless of the circumstances, and in so doing, living a life of faith.
